Located in Galesburg, Illinois, Knox College is a four-year, national liberal arts college with 1,300 students from nearly every state and 51 countries. Students in the Knox College Theatre Department's 2019 Repertory Theatre Term have produced two plays, "The Children's Hour" and "The Laramie Project." The immersive term -- a three-credit course -- is specifically designed so the participating students, along with faculty directors and designers, devote all their time to all aspects of producing two full-length shows.

Building on their fall term classroom studies, a dozen Knox College students spent nearly three weeks traveling in southern China and deeply exploring the region's culture, landscapes, and arts. The 19-day trip took place during Knox's winter break.

Knox in New York: Students Explore Art History, Studio Work

Touring galleries and museums, working intensively at New York Studio School, and networking with Knox alumni were just some of the things eight art students did during winter break through the Knox in New York program. The short-term immersive experience, taught by Associate Professor of Art Tony Gant and Professor of Art Lynette Lombard, combines an art history course and studio work with a two-week travel component to New York City. After the trip, students come back to Knox to create artwork inspired by their experiences.

More than 30 Knox College students were elected recently to Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's most prestigious academic honor society. Knox's chapter is the fourth oldest in Illinois and the first at an exclusively undergraduate, four-year liberal arts college in the state.

Sanders Name to All-MWC Baseball Team

GRINNELL, Iowa - Paul Sanders was named to the South Division All-Midwest Conference team on May 14. Sanders led all of Division III in steals per game while breaking the single season record in both the school and conference. His 38 steals also helped the Prairie Fire blow past the previous school record of 79 steals and finish with the number two mark in conference history (112). Sanders also broke the school career records in stolen bases (74) and runs scored (117).

2017-18 Athletics Awards Announced

The Knox College Athletics Department capped off the 2017-18 Prairie Fire sports season with the annual awards banquet to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievement, both on and off the field - or court. Members of the coaching staff announced the award recipients on May 16. Director of Athletics Daniella Irle said, "It is always a privilege to honor our most outstanding student-athletes as well as our seniors. They represent the college in such a powerful way and are deserving of the honors they received."
