Sanders Name to All-MWC Baseball Team

GRINNELL, Iowa - Paul Sanders was named to the South Division All-Midwest Conference team on May 14. Sanders led all of Division III in steals per game while breaking the single season record in both the school and conference. His 38 steals also helped the Prairie Fire blow past the previous school record of 79 steals and finish with the number two mark in conference history (112). Sanders also broke the school career records in stolen bases (74) and runs scored (117).

2017-18 Athletics Awards Announced

The Knox College Athletics Department capped off the 2017-18 Prairie Fire sports season with the annual awards banquet to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievement, both on and off the field - or court. Members of the coaching staff announced the award recipients on May 16. Director of Athletics Daniella Irle said, "It is always a privilege to honor our most outstanding student-athletes as well as our seniors. They represent the college in such a powerful way and are deserving of the honors they received."

MWC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

Knox College's Phelipe Graske garnered the league's Defensive Player of the Year award for the second-straight season. Joining him on the first team are Rocky Plaza and Lucas Sanchez. Alessandro Benelli earned Newcomer of the Year and a spot on the second team along with Erick Karkut.

MWC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team

The Midwest Conference (MWC) has announced the 2017 women's soccer all-conference team, including six Knox College players. Jenna Milligan has garnered first team honors and was named the Defensive Player of the Year.. Yvette Rodriguez and Sierra Daniger also made the first team, while Kayla Brown, Angelica Gamez, and Corina Leyva earned a spot on the second team.

Knox College senior Cody Hipp will join a squad of 40 standout student-athletes from NCAA Division III schools to represent Team Stars & Stripes and travel to Mexico next week for the 20th annual Tazon De Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars).

Knox Men's Soccer Team Ends Season as Conference Co-Champions

The Knox men's soccer team wrapped up the 2017 regular season as co-champions of the Midwest Conference. The Prairie Fire finished with an overall record of 13-2-4 and a Midwest Conference record of 8-0-1.

Knox Women's Soccer Team Wins MWC Tournament, Advances to NCAA Competition

The Knox College Prairie Fire women's soccer team will play on Friday, November 10 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Prairie Fire earned a spot in this year's NCAA Tournament by winning the Midwest Conference Tournament on November 4, defeating Monmouth College in the championship match.

A 3rd Quarter 32-yard touchdown pass to junior Malik Hamilton to put Knox up 21-14 over Lake Forest made senior Quarterback Matt McCaffrey Knox's new career leader in passing yards.

Academic All-Conference

More than 100 Knox College student-athletes were named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season. The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33, which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award. Several of the honorees were recognized for the academic achievements while playing more than one sport.
